Look For Signs Of Ovulation
Knowing the signs that ovulation is coming soon is important.
Symptoms include Variations in your body basal temperature (BBT): your BBT changes throughout your cycle; it will reach its lowest point when you ovulate, and immediately rise about half a degree. Measuring your basal body temperature first thing in the morning can help you determine your fertile window and it’s free!
You’ll also have changes in cervical mucus. When your body is approaching ovulation it will get clear and stretchy and there should be plenty of it.
Yuck, I know, but it’s a good indicator.
You may also have some cramping and you may even feel a little moody like you have mild PMS.
Pay really close to these symptoms by logging them on a free app like Clue.

Take The Supplement Vitex
Inositol is great but Vitex is the magic bullet for many women who have ovulation and hormone issues. It sure was for me!
I used it to get pregnant three times as we discussed earlier. Nothing worked for me but this and the inositol.
You have to use it for a few months to start but after that, you should be able to begin trying and you’ll likely have success!
It REALLY works well at regulating your cycle.
The brand is everything, I can tell you from experience. I tried several brands and they didn’t make me cycle regularly. It wasn’t until I used Solary that I was getting a good, strong ovulation. This stuff WORKS!
Also, Take Evening Primrose Oil
Evening Primrose Oil is also an excellent choice to get you balanced and ready quicker too.
It works synergistically with the other two. You can find a great Primrose supplement here.

Do Full Hormonal Testing At Home
You should also run a full hormonal panel if you want to take getting pregnant seriously. You can buy and easy at-home kit that will give you a good picture of your overall hormonal health.
Everly Well has a kit you can order that will tell you everything you need to know. You can see the kits here.
And Lastly, Eat Well
A well balanced anti-inflammatory diet is very important to create overall balance in hormones and optimal health.
There’s an excellent book on cooking for hormonal balance that everyone with irregular cycles should read. It will help you immensely.
You can check out the book here.
Getting pregnant with irregular periods can seem impossible but it’s not.
You just have to give your body a bit of a nudge in the right direction.
A few simple supplements and maybe some hormonal testing and diet changes will work wonders and you’ll be pregnant before you know it!
Good luck to you!

Track Your Cycle
Begin by observing your cycle. This is super important so that you can understand how your body is doing and when you will be most fertile.
Even if you feel like it’s hopeless because your cycles are so out of whack, begin tracking anyway.
Tracking will tell you a ton about your hormones and whether or not you’re ovulating.
You can begin tracking your cycle very easily via the app Clue. It’s what I used and still do.
It provides huge insight into your hormonal cycle and you can log everything from cramps to cervical fluid on it. I highly recommend it.
Check Your Ovulation With A Kit
Next, you want to make sure you are tracking your ovulation with a kit.
This is important too because having a cycle doesn’t always mean you’ve ovulated especially with PCOS.
This kit on Amazon comes with 50 Ovulation Test Strips and 20 Pregnancy Test Strips and it’s really cheap! You Can Find It Here.
Also, Check Your Thyroid
This is another important factor in PCOS. Hypothyroidism is known to cause PCOS-like ovaries and overall worsening of PCOS and insulin resistance.
You can also test this at home by following this link.

Pregnancy is full of joy and hardships. You are probably looking so forward to this time but there are rough waters ahead.
Learning to balance the good with the bad will allow you to get the most out of pregnancy and it will help create the best experience possible.
Below we talk about some of the harder parts of pregnancy and how to cope well so you can enjoy the process even more.

Coping With Pregnancy | 8 Reasons Why Pregnancy Is So Hard And What To Do About It
Pin It For Later On Pinterest!

Pregnancy is physically demanding:
The body goes through a lot of changes throughout pregnancy.
The symptoms and stressors can be difficult to manage at times, and although each pregnancy is different, it’s still hard on the body.
Heartburn, backache, fatigue, swollen feet and ankles, and nausea are all too common in pregnancy.
Pair that with the weight gain and malaise and you can see that the body goes through the wringer.
The first trimester is always the hardest. Once you make it through that it’s usually pretty smooth sailing.
***Have You taken a prenatal birth course yet? Don’t have time? Here’s the best Premium online birthing course and the first part of it’s totally free! You will learn absolutely everything you need to know and it will help tremendously so make sure you sign up. A Class is a must and I think the online ones are the best. Here’s a free Birth Planner Too!
What you can do:
Practice real-life self-care to manage those symptoms.
Rest when tired but make sure to stay active, too.
Elevate swollen feet and ankles; take advantage of massages whenever you can, and most of all stay positive and hopeful.
Pregnancy is an exciting time, focus on the joy of bringing that little one into the world and you’ll do just fine.
Mood swings are common:
Excited one moment and tears the next! Hormones especially can cause significant mood swings during pregnancy (during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy your
estrogen levels increase 100x, crazy right!).
Outside of hormones mood swings can be contributed to a variety of factors: physical stress, fatigue and a changing metabolism all result in mood swings that
continue throughout the pregnancy.

How To cope Better:
I’m not going to lie; you may have to make apologies here and there because of your moods, but so what. Being moody is just part of the deal when it comes to pregnancy.
Surround yourself with supportive people, forgive yourself, take time alone if needed, and try to recognize it for what it is.
Getting tons of rest will really help in the mood department so make sure you make plenty of time for it.

Pregnancy brain:
It is normal to be forgetful during pregnancy but it is frustrating. Pregnancy brain is more than just forgetfulness, it’s a mental fog that sometimes rolls in and leaves you
disconnected from a conversation or moment.
You might come across as inattentive or unaware to others. Don’t worry though, you’re pregnant and will be forgiven.
Must Read:
23 Weird Pregnancy symptoms no one tells you about
Could You Be Pregnant With Twins? Signs To Look For If You Think You May Be
How To Survive The First Six Weeks With Your Baby
The First Hour After Birth, How To Make It Better And What To Expect
What To Expect The First 24 Hours After Birth
What you can do:
Laugh it off and blame it on your ‘condition’.
You will soon regain your mental sharpness after your baby comes so just hang in there.
It’s Scary:
Pregnancy can be scary especially if you’ve never given birth before. And… It can be scary even if you have.
You don’t know what to expect and it scares the daylights out of you.
Your thoughts are now centered over what each change of your body means; you’ll wonder if things are normal, is everything okay and you’ll obsess over delivery.
If this is your first-time or you’re high risk, you may be even more concerned and obsessive. It can be pretty rough to worry so much.
It’s normal to be a little scared but I promise it’s going to be okay, women do this every day.

What you can do:
Read the book titled “What To Expect When You’re Expecting”. You will learn so much about your body, labor, and delivery.
Listen to advice from your mom, or from someone who’s experienced it and that you trust.
Be open and upfront with doctors when you have questions or concerns, and between appointments write any questions down.
Engage your spouse in the process, they’re probably nervous too.
Your relationship is tested:
Between the physical changes and the emotional rollercoaster, pregnancy can take a toll on even the strongest relationships.
Things you’ve never considered are now at the forefront of your mind.
Remember, pregnancy affects both of you.
Here’s How To Cope:
Discuss this early on and agree to work as hard as you can to be supportive of each other and talk about it again later if you need to.
Ask for your spouse’s understanding and patience during the physical challenges and mood swings.
Show your gratitude and appreciation for the extra care and attention, let them know they are part of this pregnancy too. Don’t stop being the wife your spouse needs (they’re scared of that too).
Some stuff is off-limits:
FOMO “fear of missing out” becomes real when you’re expecting.
Consuming alcohol, soaking in those super hot baths and roller coasters are all out. You’ll probably find yourself bummed once or twice because you can’t do what everyone else is doing.

What you can do:
Make alternative plans when you can, modify what your entertainment looks like, and ultimately accept that’s the way it is for now.
Plan ahead, treat yourself, and continue to focus on the positives.
Your clothes won’t fit:
Your body will change quickly and frequently during your special time.
Before too long you won’t be able to wear your favorite jeans and nothing you have will fit.
Here’s How To Cope:
Invest in some maternity pieces that you love, pants that can be both casual and dress, and used for multiple occasions.
Don’t spend too much on clothing you’ll get rid of later. Investing in a couple of carefully chosen outfits will ensure you have something to wear when needed.
Remember comfortable is better. Pick pieces that are very stretchy yet look nice.

It’s life-changing:
When baby arrives life as you know it will be profoundly different. You will be responsible for another life and that IS a big deal.
You will spend a lot of time thinking about labor, delivery, and life after the baby comes.
Pregnancy is tough on the body and really hard on the mind. But it well worth the effort and wait. There’s nothing like it in this world.
Here’s How to Cope:
Talk to your spouse. about the future and any worries or concerns you have. Deal with your anxiety together and let your partner express how they feel as well.
Instead of worrying so much spend time imagining what your he\she will look like, and focus energy on preparing for baby’s arrival.
Get the room or space ready, shop for diapers and clothing, and educate yourself on pregnancy and delivery.
Coping with pregnancy can really test your sanity and it’s all a lot of hard work. But it’s also one of the most amazing experiences that a woman can have. I have had three little ones and I had a tough time but it was still some of the best times of my life and I really miss being pregnant.
So enjoy those moments, mama. The good and the bad because they all come down to one thing and that’s the birth of your baby. And it’s all so worth it.
Good luck to you!!

There are some things that breastfeeding mamas can’t live without.
They make your breastfeeding journey so much more comfortable and I should know, Between all my babes I breastfed for 10 long years!

Breastfeeding Accessories That Every Mama Needs

Nursing pillow
A nursing pillow is a c-shaped pillow that fits around a mom’s belly for support while nursing. Its primary purpose is to position the baby higher up and closer to the breast but is also helpful for sitting or tummy time for the baby.
A nursing pillow helps the mom get the baby in the right position for feeding.
They also help save your back and they are absolutely necessary. You wouldn’t think it would be hard to hold your baby for 10 minutes in the right position to breastfeed but even a tiny baby gets REALLY heavy.

Breastfeeding without a pillow can really strain your back and cause a lot of pain. And a regular pillow isn’t good enough. They just cave in and you can’t position the baby right.
Here’s an excellent pillow that is very fair priced and it will make you both very comfortable. I love it because it has double support measures.

Nursing bra
Designed specifically for women who are breastfeeding, nursing bras allow for feeding without the added hassle of having to take off the bra. These bras are designed with flaps in the cup, that can be opened (with one hand) to expose the nipple for easy access.
Nursing bras can be worn under clothing and come in a variety of styles and designs including underwire and seamless too. There are kinds of lovely styles to choose from.
Nursing bras are essential because you simply cannot breastfeed comfortably in a regular bra. It just doesn’t work out.
Here’s a great option that is super comfortable. I own this bra in several colors myself and it’s the best.

Nipple pads
Sometimes called breast pads, nipple pads are especially helpful for breastfeeding moms.
Because leaking from the breast is common, nipple pads are a wonderful accessory. They come in a variety of materials (disposable or reusable) and are tucked into the bra where they can absorb any breast milk that might have leaked.
They can help you avoid embarrassment and protect your clothes.
These Organic Bamboo Nursing Breast Pads are the best. The pack comes with 14 Washable Pads + Wash Bag. You can find them here on Amazon. Or check out the image below.

Nipple cream or salve
Breastfeeding is BRUTAL on your nipples, at least at first, and after a while can leave nipples dry, cracked, and sore.
A good cream or salve is essential and can ease irritation and discomfort.
Trust me; you’re going to want to have something on hand.
Here’s some great Nipple salve from the Honest Company.

Breast pump
A breast pump is an essential tool for every breastfeeding mom.
Even if you plan to breastfeed exclusively there will be times when you need one.
You will likely become engorged after your milk comes in and you’ll need it to pump out some of that extra milk. Or maybe you’re not making enough milk and you need to pump to bump up your supply.
You’ll also need to build up a freezer stash for emergencies in case you have to suddenly be away from your babe. Or for when you go back to work if you work outside of the home.
A good pump is just something you definitely need and here’s a great option if you’d like to hand pump. Haakaa makes a great product.
If you prefer an electric pump bra this one is the way to go. It has rave reviews and it’s comfortable.

Cover Up
Cover-ups are used to help you feel more comfortable nursing or pumping while in public.
They can offer a private place for babies to nurse and reduce the anxiety that some Moms have about being exposed in public.
Not all babies will adapt to a cover-up and not all Moms will want to go that route, and that’s okay.
But if you do decide to use one, cover-ups come in a variety of styles and designs giving you plenty of options to choose from.
There are lots of other breastfeeding accessories that you may want but the ones above are the absolute must-haves.

Good luck mama!

Unfortunately, breastfeeding in public debate is alive and strong because of ignorance and up-tight people who like to complain.
But no one should have to feel nervous about breastfeeding in public.
It’s the most natural thing in the world and you and your baby shouldn’t be trapped at home just because ignorant people can’t handle the idea of you feeding your baby.
Breastfeeding in public is perfectly legal and there are some simple and easy ways you can make it more comfortable for yourself and everyone else too.
Below are some tips on how to make breastfeeding in public a breeze so the people around you are more at ease with it. Even the sensitive snowflakes who complain about everything 😉

Dress comfortably and for easy access
Being comfortable and choosing easy-access clothing can make a world of difference when you’re out in public.
You don’t need a special wardrobe but making smart choices can make it easier for you and your baby. A nursing bra, a tank, a crossover, or a button-down top are popular choices for breastfeeding Moms.
On the other hand, if you are into buying cute breastfeeding tops you can find some awesome ones right here.
Whether you’re a pro at it or just figuring it out I want you to know that “you’ve got this” and there is no right or wrong way.

Find the right spot
Even if you’re not the anxious type, the noise and people can make breastfeeding in public more challenging for the baby.
Whenever possible, scout out a location that is peaceful, quiet, and comfortable. Some very considerate businesses have breastfeeding stations so always check to see if the area you’re at has one available.
Give yourself back support and plenty of room for you and your baby to do your thing. When it comes down to it, feeding your child takes priority and you can choose to make it happen wherever and whenever you need to.

Consider using a cover-up or wrap: Not all babies will adapt, and not all Moms are a fan.
But if you’re concerned about being exposed when out in public a cover-up might be for you.
These cover-ups can help with the anxiousness you feel but also shield the baby from a crowd. Cover-ups offer babies
a private place for feeding no matter where you happen to be sitting.
Do what works for you and your baby and let go of what everyone else thinks.

Remember the turn to Minimize exposure
Latching and unlatching is the moment when skin is more likely to show, and if you’re uncomfortable with that remember to turn.
A slight turn opposite of the crowd, or towards the wall can give you and your baby a bit more privacy. Position yourself in a way that makes you feel
most comfortable.
Turning away for a moment will help you get through any nervousness you’re experiencing.
Prepare yourself for the staring and please don’t let it bother you!
The law is on your side. You have every right to feed your baby but some people are still really ignorant.
People will sometimes stare and some will occasionally, depending on where you’re at and what area of the country or world you’re in, go as far as making rude comments.

No one has the right to tell you how, where or when to feed your child though.
It’s a shame that this is the way things are. The breast is sexualized and you can find them pictured strategically in ads everywhere.
Yet when you feed your child this is somehow offensive. Of course, this is not the case in many areas of the world. For some reason, America is really ass-backwards about this but the snowflakes love to complain and this gives them a reason to do so.
But with all that being said, don’t be afraid to breastfeed your child when and where you need to. Don’t worry about the ignorant. Ignore them and do what you gotta do.
Being prepared with a response ahead of time ensures that it doesn’t become a stressful moment for your baby at the worst time.
You are being a great Mom, taking care of your baby and there is nothing wrong with breastfeeding; don’t let anyone make you feel otherwise.

Accessorize
For some, breastfeeding in public is difficult. It’s something they’d prefer to do in private and for that, it can be challenging.
But there are a lot of helpful products out there to ease the burden and make breastfeeding easier, and more comfortable.
For instance, you can use a breastfeeding necklace to distract your baby. They’re pretty and they will help keep your babe calm and focused while she eats.
Using these tips will make breastfeeding in public a lot easier. Most importantly just do what you have to do and don’t worry too much about it.
Hopefully, the world will grow wiser and realize breastfeeding is the most natural thing in the world. It’s just so bizarre that people even have a problem with it.
Good luck to you mama!

I hope these six things will help you appreciate your pregnancy just a bit more. Even when it feels like it will never end and like you just can’t get out of bed in the morning. Take it in stride and know it’s all part of a very special experience meant only for you.
Best of luck to you!
